Creating a trading card for Booker - why hadn't I thought of that before? I want to contact all bookmobile librarians and get them to make ones of their own so we can give them out to our
patrons to trade. Booker's would be the ultimate card in this scenario, of course.
I can see how creating author or book cards would be fun, too. Tie them into a summer reading program or create a new trend! Kudos to Carleton College of Booker's hometown, Northfield, MN for getting a mention in the 23 Things program for their inventive use of trading cards in their library.
How about a mashup that ties Flickr (book or author images) with Big Huge Labs' Trading Card function to create cards as you go? Once I finish reading a book, I go to the link and upload a picture of the cover or an author's image and create a card. They could be amassed in a virtual collection or printed out for "trading" except that instead of trading them in the ordinary way, people could give them away as reading recommendations and/or as proof of reading for a rewards program. (No problem to add a quiz to check that the book was actually read.)
I'll put my IT crew right on it...

Many more image generators @ www.ImageGenerator.org (customize buttons, scrapbooks, fake magazine covers, banners, sigs, avatars, signs, comics, logos, gags, smilies, glitters, e-cards, etc)
I made a Flickr trading card of myself this summer (with a self-portrait taken in my old bookmobile's rear-view mirror) so now I will have to make one for my new bookmobile!
